PHILOMED

The ANR Jeune Chercheur PHILOMED project aims to measure the impact of medical discoveries from the perspective of the emergence of philosophical anthropology in the 17th and 18th centuries. This project was launched in October 2009 for a duration of 3 years. Led by Stefanie Buchenau (Université Paris 8 Saint-Denis), co-directed by Anne-Lise Rey (Université de Lille 1) and Claire Crignon (Université Paris-Sorbonne), it brings together a team of 15 researchers from France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. Among its technical objectives are: the publication of an anthology of texts and a companion on the impact of medical research on philosophy, in collaboration with BIU Santé: digitization of about sixty works on the history of medicine. The site allows for communication of the team's activities (workshops, publications, conferences, digitization project) as well as dissemination of news on research regarding the relationships between medicine and philosophy (Classical Age and Enlightenment) and their contemporary extensions.
