Welcome to the Entomological Society of Indonesia Official Website. The Society was created on 1 October 1970 by 23 attendees of the Plant Protection Meeting held in Salatiga, Central Java. It has 1094 members residing across Indonesia, from Sumatra to Papua. The Society focuses on tropical entomology and is the continuation of the Nederlandsch-Indische Entomologische Vereniging (NIEV) established in 1934, which consisted mainly of Dutch entomologists.
