I was born in 1973 in Izmir. I completed my primary and secondary education at Izmir Karşıyaka High School. I successfully completed my undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University with a full scholarship. After completing my Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at Gazi University, I finished my PhD program in Energy Systems Engineering at the same university with honors. I received my Associate Professorship title in the field of Energy Systems Engineering from the Interuniversity Council on February 28, 2023. I am actively engaged in academic research in the fields of Energy Systems, Environment, and Climate Change. In my professional career, I have held various positions including Project Manager and Total Quality Manager at Aycell Communication and Marketing Company, Strategy and Planning Manager / ERP System Manager at Kaya Telekom A.Ş., and Deputy General Manager at Comtech Telecommunications A.Ş. I started my public service at the Turkish Statistical Institute in 2006, where I served as a TÜİK Expert, Team Leader of the Industry Department, and Group Leader of Environmental Accounts. Between 2018 and 2022, I served as the Head of the Environment and Climate Department at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. I completed my role as Deputy Head of the Climate Change Presidency, which was established on October 29, 2021, on February 16, 2024. Currently, I work as the Director of Public Relations at Çimentaş, a company operating under Cementir Holding. I have published many scientific articles and papers in national and international fields on Renewable Energy, Environment, Climate Change, and Combustion Fuels. I have also taught part-time as a guest lecturer at Turkish Aeronautical Association and Gazi University. Since 2015, I have been serving as a Senior Expert (ERT) in the Agriculture and Energy Sectors within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In this capacity, I technically review the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Reports (NIR) on behalf of the UNFCCC, representing our country. My main areas of expertise include Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Climate Change Negotiations, Climate Policy Analysis, Energy Efficiency, and Strategic Project Planning. I am married and a father of one child.
