Federal Finance Administration

The Federal Finance Administration (EFV) is responsible for the budget, financial planning, and accounting. It assesses the expenditure-related projects of all departments, develops financial policy concepts, oversees the statistics of public finances in Switzerland, and manages the federal financial equalization. The EFV ensures the continuous payment readiness of the federal government and is responsible for fundraising and investments in the money and capital markets. It also deals with national and international financial and monetary issues, maintains relationships with the Swiss National Bank and the Federal Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), and safeguards Switzerland's interests in international relations, particularly with the International Monetary Fund. Additionally, it is responsible for legislation in the fields of banking, monetary affairs, and financial market law.
