Afyon Enerji ve Gübre A.Ş. operates the Afyon Biogas Energy Plant in Afyonkarahisar, producing electricity from biogas generated from the anaerobic fermentation of animal and plant waste. Additionally, the company produces odorless, fly-free organic solid and liquid fertilizers that have undergone a hygienization process. The plant processes 150,000 tons of organic waste annually, generating 32,000,000 kWh of electricity and 33,500,000 kWh of heat energy. The facility contributes to environmental sustainability by preventing 177,000 tons of carbon emissions each year and has received validation from the prestigious Gold Standard organization for its carbon credit certification.
